To explore what becomes possible when people, food and land are brought back into relationship. Because so many of the challenges we face today begin with disconnection. From ourselves, each other, nature and the living systems that sustain us.
Conscious Ground is how we choose to live, learn and grow, creating the conditions for connection to be experienced, practised and remembered.
Food is where land, health, culture, family and community meet. It carries wisdom, nourishes life and brings us back into relationship with each other and the living world.
Food is our tool.
People are our purpose.
The land is our teacher.
Conscious Ground is a certified organic regenerative family farm near Byron Bay, growing nutrient dense food, restoring native habitat, building healthier soil and strengthening the connection between people and where their food comes from. It is all guided by a simple principle: grow the soil first.
As we farm, we deepen our connection to food, nature and the living systems we are part of. We pass on what we learn along the way, showing what becomes possible when we begin to see these relationships differently.
We came to farming without farming backgrounds, but with years of business experience, fresh thinking and a willingness to learn. We brought an agile mindset to the land. Observe. Test. Learn. Refine.
But over time, farming began teaching us something deeper.
Growing food isn’t just about what we take from the land. It’s about what we leave behind.
Fertile soil. Thriving habitat. Shared knowledge. Nourishing food. Stronger connection.
For thousands of years, ancient cultures around the world have understood something we are now relearning and remembering: food, health, community and the natural world are not separate. They are part of one living system.
This knowledge of living guided by season, place, observation and relationship with nature reminds us to listen, to notice, to live within natural rhythms and to carry what we learn forward with care.
Modern knowledge taught us how to build. Ancient cultural wisdom and the land are teaching us how to belong.
Technology taught us to innovate quickly. Farming taught us patience. Business taught us to measure outcomes.
The land taught us that not everything worth measuring appears on a balance sheet.
So we are learning to measure success differently. By the health of the soil. The biodiversity returning to the land. The food we grow. The knowledge we share. The relationships we strengthen. And the people who grow alongside us.
Regeneration, for us, is about relationship. It is about creating the conditions for soil, ecosystems, food and people to become healthier together. It is about leaving more behind than we take, and recognising that when one part of the system thrives, it creates the conditions for the others to thrive too.
We’re not just growing food. We’re growing people.
Our vision is carried through the lives of May, our Director, and Richard, our Founder.
May and Richard came together after their own independent healing journeys through food, land, culture and community. Both coming from entrepreneurial backgrounds, with the experience of building businesses, solving problems and creating structures that could hold something bigger than themselves.
At Conscious Ground, those life learnings have become something living. A farm shaped by regeneration, ancient wisdom, cultural sharing, education, holistic health and personal growth.
Conscious Ground is their home, their healing journey, their family legacy and their offering to the world.
May brings the deep roots of her Vietnamese heritage, shaped by a family story of leaving Vietnam as refugees and rebuilding life through resilience, food, family and care. In Vietnam, people do not simply greet each other with hello. They ask, “Have you eaten rice?”
Food is the first language of love, belonging and wellbeing.
That truth lives in the way Conscious Ground gathers people around the table, honours nourishment and places home at the centre. May’s spiritual roots were shaped through her childhood upbringing, where culture, family, food, prayer, energy and care were woven into everyday life. This is carried through Conscious Ground in the way food, land, body and spirit are held as one. Her gift is weaving care with structure, culture with purposeful enterprise, and food with meaningful human experience.
Richard brings the heart and mind of the founder, builder and systems thinker, translated into the practical work of regeneration. His own healing journey after facing stage 4 terminal cancer deeply shaped the heart of Conscious Ground. Food became more than nourishment. It became part of his return to life and his understanding of what the body, land and spirit need to regenerate.
This wisdom now lives in the work of the farm. Slowing the flow. Restoring what has been depleted. Nourishing the roots. Creating the conditions for people, soil, water and community to thrive.
Together, May and Richard are not just growing food.
They are committed to growing themselves and creating the environment for others to grow, through nourishing food, living soil, grounded energy and deep remembrance.
